Vaginal rejuvenation can be an uncomfortable topic. Dr. Renee Burke understands this and discusses these concerns and emotions woman-to-woman with her patients from Barrington, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Crystal Lake, and Algonquin.
Many of our labiaplasty patients have experienced discomfort or embarrassment because of elongated, enlarged, or asymmetric labia. This may be genetic or the result of having children. In either case, pronounced labia may cause discomfort or prevent women from wearing certain clothes. Dr. Burke may recommend surgical rejuvenation by reduction of the labia majora or minora (outer or inner vaginal lips).

Dr. Burke uses modern surgical techniques to make incisions within the labia majora or minora. She typically performs labiaplasty as an outpatient procedure using twilight sedation or general anesthesia. Patients who combine other procedures with vaginal rejuvenation may need to stay overnight before returning home.

Your sutures naturally dissolve in 1 to 2 weeks. Dr. Burke recommends postponing sexual activity for about 2 to 3 weeks following the procedure.
